Rep. Chris Collins claimed victory on Tuesday night.

Democratic challenger Nate McMurray conceded before the NY-27 race was officially called, saying “it looks like we’re going to come up a little short” at a campaign watch party in Hamburg.

Collins later accepted the victory and spoke to the media at a campaign watch party in Buffalo.

“I’m just going to continue to do my job,” said Collins.

Collins said that facing criminal charges will not distract him from representing NY’s 27th congressional district. The congressman was arrested in August on insider trading charges.

Collins said he had not heard from McMurray.

The congressman will be holding a conference Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
