ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — The owner of The Buffalo Bills stood with Head Coach Rex Ryan Thursday for a good cause when they consumed dog biscuits for the SPCA.
Ryan acknowledged he was challenged on Wednesday, saying based off his name alone, he’d have no problem gobbling down a K-9 treat, and Thursday he set to the task.
“I have four rescue animals; two dogs, two cats,” Ryan said, admitting the SPCA cause is close to his heart. “But really this is a special thing and when I was challenged I’m more than happy to do it. So with that, here we go, I got the Milkbone.”
Ryan gobbled more than one down, exceeding the expectations of the challenge.
“Oh that’s terrific, I think I’m gonna give one more I think, yeah that’s outstanding,” Rex said of the biscuits. “A little dry, but alright, I’m here to challenge somebody.”
After consuming his fill, Ryan challenged Sidney Pegula, the Pegula family pup. Ryan soon inferred Sidney wanted his owner to give one a shot as well, so Terry Pegula took to the task.
Soon after, Pegula challenged Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.
“Because he’s like a dog on a bone,” Pegula said.
Ryan made a point to mention the SPCA of Erie County is funded fully on donations, and encouraged fans to give to the organization here.
