BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Smoke billowed from a building with a vacant storefront as firefighters fought flames in south Buffalo Thursday.

Firefighters rushed to the morning fire around 9 a.m. at the corner of Abbott Road and Portland Street. Multiple crews responded to the fire to jet the blaze with water and protect surrounding buildings and civilians.

Crews utilized ladders to get a vantage on flames that appeared to be coming from the roof.

Officials extinguished the flames, but four firefighters suffered injuries in the flames. The injures aren’t considered serious in nature.
