HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - Local meteorologists gathered at the Erie County Fairgrounds to talk about Buffalo's historic snow.
A gauge on a building wall makes it easy to compare the many historic snowfalls in western New York.
The current record for a season is 199.4 inches. That was set during the winter when the infamous Blizzard of '77 paralyzed Buffalo.
A crew from the National Weather Service was on hand for the event, where forecasters were recognized for their predictions.
