State Health Department shuts down senior living facility temporarily

The State Health Department has confirmed to News 4 they will be shutting down the Oakwood Senior Living for 60 days.

A Commissioner’s Emergency Order was executed on May 20, according to department spokesperson Jeffrey Hammond.

He says this move is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents. 

Due to pending litigation, the Health Department could not comment further.
