State Police make sexual misconduct arrest after child pornography tip

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - On Friday State Police arrested 20-year-old Terrill McLin of Cheektowaga for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, Sexual Misconduct and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

State Police say in April of 2017 a cyber tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for possible conduct of child pornography.

After coming into contact with McLin initially in 2017 and reviewing downloaded data from electronic devices it was determined that a possible victim was established.

This past June a search warrant was executed to further investigate McLin's other devices.

Police determined McLin had sexual contact with a 15-year-old male victim.

McLin was arrested and arraigned at the Town of Cheektowaga Court where he was released on his own recognizance.
