HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) - A $1.6 million project on Route 20 in Hamburg intended to enhance safety and make left-hand turns on Southwestern Boulevard has been completed.
The state-funded project involved the stretch of Route 20 between Amsdell to Lakeview roads. It created a continuous, two-way center left turn lane.
"The newly designed traffic pattern will reduce the amount of traffic incidents and ensure the safety of the residents of the Town of Hamburg," Town of Hamburg deputy supervisor Thomas Best, Jr. said.
