(WIVB) - A Tennessee woman with family in Buffalo is the winner of Oxford Pennant's "Warmest Cold City" contest.
Carling Wilson from Chatanooga will be flown to Buffalo and given a two-night stay at Hotel Henry, as well as gift cards to multiple local restaurants, a $50 Ted's gift certificate, and passes to the Albright-Knox.
Her room at Hotel Henry will be given an extra Buffalo touch with pizza and wings from Picasso's Pizza and other local items.
Wilson's aunt, who lives in Buffalo, tagged her in a Facebook post advertising the contest.
"All of my extended family lives in Buffalo," Wilson said. "I get to see them which is exciting, because I haven't seen them in a little bit."
Wilson said she plans to take advantage of the free activities offered in the contest package, as well as hopefully getting in a day of skiiing.
"We're familiar with the area, but we're usually hanging out with family," Wilson said. "It'll be fun to be a true tourist."
Wilson said she's planning on coming up toward the end of February.
The contest rules stipulate that winners have to make their visit between Feb. 8 and March 10.
Oxford Pennant's website says the contest is meant to show off the Queen City at its best.
The truth about Buffalo is that it’s a wonderful place, no matter the time of year! Even in the heart of winter, our snowy city is bustling with fun things to do, great things to eat and beautiful places to go. Most importantly, you’ll never visit a city with kinder people who are excited to share what they love about their hometown.
"My husband is a true southerner and he's never experienced Niagara Falls before," Wilson said. "I'm excited- we look forward to coming up and having a good time in the city."
