BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two John F. Kennedy Middle School students spent their summer vacations sprucing up Shea's.
Natalie Horner, 14, and Jayla Baldenegro, 12, helped to repair water damage and restored some of the Buffalo theater's historic sculptures and ceilings.
"I think it looks really good around for my generation now, and I want to see what it looks like for future generations," Horner said. "I feel like it's cool to keep all of the old how they wanted Shea's to look for future generations to see."
"No one else gets to do this, and I like to have my mark on it," Baldenegro said. "When I come back I can go, "I did that".
Both girls hope the skills they learned this summer will serve them well later in life.
