U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is planning a visit to Buffalo.
Ginsburg will speak and teach students at the UB School of Law, and will be a special guest at an evening program at Kleinhans Music Hall.
Her appearance is scheduled for August 26. It will be dedicated to Buffalo attorney Wayne Wisbaum — a friend of Ginsburg who invited her to Buffalo last year before passing away in December.
“She is a powerful symbol of the most fundamental values of our nation and our legal system,” said Marianne Mariano, president of the Bar Association of Erie County. “We are thrilled and delighted to welcome her to Buffalo.”
Ginsburg is a native of New York, growing up in Brooklyn during the Great Depression.
