BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A high school basketball team played on without one of its star players on Friday.
Juston Johnson had to sit on the bench and watch his teammates at West Seneca West as they played Canisius.
Johnson was home-schooled after he broke his arm when he was 12-years-old.
The state high school athletic association ruled that year counted towards his six years of eligibility to play high school sports.
They say that time has now run out.
Johnson and his family have gone to court to try and have the ruling overturned.
His teammates will talk about how they plan to move forward on Monday.
There could be a ruling on Johnson’s case in Erie County supreme court on Wednesday.
