BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — As fall inches closer to winter, Western New Yorkers are beginning to decorate their homes for the holidays.

For some residents of Buffalo’s east side, decorating is not something they can afford to do. That’s when “B Team Buffalo” steps in and brightens their neighborhoods.

On Saturday 150 volunteers decorated more than 50 homes in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood with lights and garland.

Organizers say they are lighting up the lives of so many in a simple way.

“We’re out in the neighborhood, we  decorate a different neighborhood every year, generally an under served area, where we want to bring light and joy to the area for the holidays,” said “B Team Buffalo” chairman, Joanna Panasiewicz.

“B Team Buffalo” was created in 2008. There is no cost to residents, and the lights and decorations are made possible through the support of generous donations.
