Lockport man admits to stealing from group that supports veterans

A Lockport man confessed to stealing from a group who supports local veterans and their families.

Scott Hemperly was part of the “Jeep Wranger Club.”

Back in 2017, the club raised more than $5,000 for WNY Heroes at a weekend event.

Hemperly admitted to stealing that money, pleading guilty to two counts of grand larceny.

He faces up to 11 years in prison when he is sentenced in May.

Hemperly has paid back all of the money he stole from the group.
