LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – Town of Lockport police arrested Lockport middle school principal James Snyder Tuesday and charged him with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Lockport police are not releasing any further details, and referred News 4 to the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office.

Snyder has been at North Park Jr. High School for many years, as both principal and assistant principal, and has appeared on camera for news stories, over the years, going back as far as 2004, when North Park Jr. High was evacuated due to a carbon monoxide leak.

Authorities are not saying what Snyder is accused of, related to the child endangerment charges, or whether it might involve one of the North Park students. Snyder is scheduled to return to Lockport City Court, August 19.
