BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been convicted of criminal weapon possession following an incident from September 2015.
Around 4 a.m. on September 13, Buffalo police say they saw a car swiftly move across a street, hit a light pole, and then proceed to strike a building at Bailey Ave. and Kerns Ave.
Seconds later, police were at the scene.
They say that Bernard Brooks, 37, got out of the car with a pistol in a holster on his hip. Once he saw the officers, they say he jumped back in the car and put the gun under the driver’s seat.
According to Brooks, he found the gun three days prior and was trying to sell it.
When he is sentenced on October 20, Brooks could spend 15 years in jail.
