Man lights himself on fire near The White House

WASHINGTON D.C. (WIVB) — On Wednesday afternoon, the U.S. Secret Service says a man lit himself on fire near The White House.

According to authorities, the incident took place on The Ellipse, a park south of The White House, near 15th St. and Constitution Ave.

Secret Service personnel went to the scene and helped other officials in administering first aid to the man.

It is not clear why he lit himself on fire.
