FAA wants to improve pilot training

Federal regulators want to improve pilot performance and reduce the possibility of catastrophic error.

New rules by the FAA will ensure pilots stick to standard operating procedures.

That includes focusing on essential duties during certain parts of the flight, like take-off and landing.

The rules are expected to go into effect in the next three years.
