NEW YORK (MEDIA GENERAL) – We’ve known it was coming and now it’s here. Jon Stewart’s last time hosting “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central airs Thursday night. He’s been sitting in the pilot’s chair of the comedy news show since 1999.
The set of “The Daily Show” will be donated to the Newseum after Thursday’s final episode.
After 2,600 telecasts, Stewart, 52, will step aside, making way for Trevor Noah, a 31-year-old stand-up comic from South Africa, as the nation dives headlong into the 2016 presidential election cycle.
From comedians, to actresses to Arby’s, the goodbyes to Stewart have aimed to tickle our funny bone. In case you haven’t been in on the joke, Stewart has been giving Arby’s a hard time for years. The fast food giant has finally decided to get in on the joke.
