(WIVB)–A new study finds a third of women in the U.S. have at least one chronic health condition that may complicate pregnancy.

Researchers also found few of those women were using the most highly effective forms of birth control.

That’s a concern since previous research shows women with chronic conditions have a greater risk of an unplanned pregnancy.
