NEW YORK (WIVB)–Two new state laws are now in effect aiming to increase equal pay for men and women in New York State.

One of the laws bans employers from asking job applicants about their salary history.

The other expands the definition of “equal pay for equal work”.

The governor is also calling on businesses to review pay policies now that the laws are in effect.
