New York could soon require feminine hygiene products to list ingredients

NEW YORK (WIVB)– New York could soon be the first state to require feminine hygiene products to list their ingredients. The measure passed the legislature last week.

It would require packaging labels listing the materials used in tampons and pads.

Supports say it’ll give people important information about possible allergens, toxic chemicals, and synthetic materials in those products.

Governor Andrew Cuomo still needs to approve it.
