Construction, retail jobs return while other industries struggle

Around New York State

ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State lost almost 2 million jobs because of the pandemic.

State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli says fewer than half of those jobs have been brought back. In a new report from his office, it was revealed which industries have recovered and which ones are struggling.

Construction and retail have bounced back the most, while professional services, hospitality and wholesale trade are still lagging behind.
