ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo is taking steps to protect children from predators online.

The governor wants to keep convicted sex offenders from using social media, dating apps and video game chats to exploit children.

He argues our laws need to keep up with technology.

The proposal builds on New York’s E-Stop law, which requires sex offenders to register certain online activities with the state.
