(WIVB) — Two new state laws go into effect on Tuesday, and they aim to increase equal pay.

One of the laws bans employers from asking job applicants about their salary history.

The other expands the definition of “equal pay for equal work.”

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is also calling on businesses to review their pay policies as these new laws take effect.
