New York man shoots, kills neighbors dog mistaking it for coyote, say troopers

ROOT, N.Y. (via NEWS10) – A man is facing charges after police say he shot and killed his neighbors dog in Montgomery County, which is in eastern New York.

Police say Daniel Johnson, 47, shot the dog after he says he thought the animal was a coyote.

He was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

Johnson is due in court next month.
