Niagara County Sheriff’s Office arrests man on Leandra’s Law violation

A Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested and charged a man with violating Leandra’s Law on Monday, March 11, 2019, according to a news release. 

The Sheriff’s Office said the deputy initiated a traffic stop just before 5:30 p.m. on an uninspected vehicle.

Jeffrey J. Fader, 50, was the driver of the vehicle, the news release said. There was also a 14-year-old passenger. 

The Sheriff’s Office said Fader was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests. 

He was transported to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office where he took a chemical test of his breath for alcohol, according to the Sheriff’s Office.  

The release said he blew a BAC of .16%.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Fader was charged with DWI, Felony DWI (Leandra’s Law violation), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Uninspected Motor Vehicle.

He was remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500.00 bail.
