The New York State Department of Health said they are investigating allegations that a former administrator abused a patient at Emerald South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
“We are aware of these allegations and we are investigating. As this remains an active investigation, we cannot comment any further” the Department of Health said in a statement.
News 4 is awaiting a response from Emerald South about these allegations.
The statement also contained a phone number where individuals with a complaint about nursing homes can call. That number is 1-888-201-4563.
In the past two years, 2 elderly patients of Emerald South have died of unnatural causes.
