Police: Homeowner facing charges after fatally shooting burglary suspects

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) — In Oneida County, two burglary suspects are dead, and a homeowner is facing charges.

New York State police officials say they were called to a home invasion in the Town of Deerfield Tuesday afternoon.

They say a man and a woman attempted to break in, but the homeowner, 64-year-old Ronald Stolarcyzk, shot them with an illegally-owned handgun. Both suspects later died.

Stolarcyzk was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm.
