Marvin Prochet scored a game high 23 points to help power Niagara past Norfolk State 83-75 Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Center.
In total, five Purple Eagles hit double figures which included 15 points from James Towns, 14 from Khalil Tate, while both Dominic Robb and Raheem Solomon chipped in with 11.
Niagara started the game on a 12-2 run as Prochet hit three straight 3-pointers to open the game. However, the Spartans rallied back to take an 18-17 lead with a little more than 10 minutes to play .
The two squads would continue to exchange buckets as Niagara would ultimately take a 43-35 lead into the half.
NSU would pull within three early in the second half but couldn’t get any closer as the Purple Eagles cruised to their seventh win of the year.
Niagara has one final non-conference tuneup Monday against Albany before beginning Metro Atlantic play against Manhattan on Jan. 5.
