The Buffalo Sabres and Sam Reinhart have agreed to a two-year bridge deal worth an average annual value of $3.65 million, the team announced on Wednesday.

Reinhart, who participated in summer skates with teammates ahead of training camp, missed the first six days of the preseason holding out for a new contract.

After a sluggish start to last season, the right winger finished the year on a tear, with 20 goals over the final 44 games to net career highs in goals (25) and points (50).

The Sabres return to practice on Thursday ahead of their home-and-home tilt against the Maple Leafs, first in Toronto on Friday and then in Buffalo on Saturday.
