Series of jazz concerts to pay tribute to issues of late 1960s

Local musicians will pay tribute to social strife in the 1960s through a series of concerts. 

“Jazz Impressions- 1968” is a collaboration between the Sportsmen’s Americana Music Foundation, the Buffalo Jazz Collective, and the Burchfield Penney Art Center. 

Concerts will be held during October and November of this year and will feature musical and literary elements. 

The concerts are as follows:

UB Baird Recital Hall 

7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 

West Falls Center for the Arts 

11 a.m. Oct. 23 

Villa Maria Recital Hall 

8 p.m. Nov. 2 

Burchfield-Penney Art Gallery, The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Auditorium 

7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 

Taylor Theatre at the Kenan Center 

2:30 p.m. Nov. 11 

Buffalo History Museum 

8 p.m. Nov. 14

Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center

6 p.m. Nov. 20
