Some popular apps stop sharing data with Facebook

At least five popular health and fitness apps have stopped sharing sensitive user data with Facebook.

The move comes after a Wall Street Journal investigation.

The Journal found 11 apps that shared personal information, including users’ body weight, blood pressure and pregnancy status with Facebook.

The social media giant says it is telling the app developers to stop sending the sensitive information.

The company is also working on new systems to detect and block information sharing by apps.
