ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 72-year-old woman, whose body was found in Lake Ontario not far from her suburban Rochester home, apparently died in an accidental drowning.
Police in the town of Greece say they were notified Sunday morning that a woman was missing from her home on Ontario Boulevard. Officers say the woman had fallen into the lake near her property.
Her body was later recovered by members of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed nearby. Police haven’t released the woman’s name.
Officials say her death appears to be accidental and foul play isn’t suspected.
