ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — A collision on a busy road in Orchard Park closed a portion of Milestrip Road on Wednesday and forced Mercy Flight to evacuate two victims with injuries.

Officials say crews responded on Wednesday just after 2 p.m. to Mid County Drive and Milestrip Road after a car and tractor trailer collided. Orchard Park Firefighters had to pull out the jaws of life to extricate two crash victims from the car, who were then flown to a local hospital.

The crash closed Milestrip westbound from Route 20 to Route 219 as first responders staged their response.

As police in Orchard Park investigate the crash, they say the passenger vehicle was struck by a commercial car carrier. Investigation continues with the help of the West Seneca Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and New York State Police.
