Two local breweries take home gold medals in state craft beer competition


Two local breweries took home gold medals in the third annual New York State Craft Beer Competition. 

Gold medals were awarded to 21 beers from breweries across the state in the competition, which is run by the New York State Brewers’ Association.

Resurgence Brewing Company,  1250 Niagara St. Buffalo, won a gold medal for its “Ice Book Bock” in the Amber and Dark Lagers category. 

Big Ditch Brewing Company,  55 E Huron St, Buffalo, took home the gold in the American DIPA (double IPA) category for its “Cannon Call”.  

The overall winner out of a total of 813 entries was Auburn-based Prison City Pub and breweries, which won the Governor’s Cup award.
