For the second time in four years, the UB women’s basketball team is Mid-American Conference Champions.
Cierra Dillard led the Bulls with 22 points to help power the program to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four seasons in a 77-61 win over No. 2 Ohio Saturday morning at Quicken Loans Arena.
Last year, the Bulls earned an at-large and advanced all the way to the Sweet 16.
UB, which struggled shooting in their semifinal win over No. 1 Central Michigan, torched the twine, hitting a season high 13-pointers.
Hanna Hall led the offensive surge from beyond the arc by going 5-for-9 and finishing with 17 points. She also had seven assists in the win.
Summer Hemphill, who scored 24 points in the semifinals, dominated in the paint and on the glass finishing with 16 points and also set a new MAC Tournament record with 21 rebounds.
The Bulls will learn their seed and where they will play in the NCAA Tournament on Selection Monday.
