PHOENIX, Ariz. (WIVB) — The Phoenix Police Department is calling it “an emu-sing story.”

Police in the Arizona city received an unusual call on Sunday morning.

Around 6 a.m., police responded to a report of a large bird that was loose in the area of 65th St. and Cactus Rd.

Eventually, officers were able to secure the emu and find its owner.

“Thanks to a nearby Scottsdale PD officer for holding on to it until we can escort it home,” Phoenix police wrote on Facebook.
