Rep. Tom Reed discharged from hospital after medical emergency

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Rep. Tom Reed, who represents New York’s 23rd District in Congress, had a medical emergency in Washington, D.C.

After being checked out by medical personnel, Reed was discharged and prescribed a few days of rest.

A Republican, Reed has represented the Southern Tier in Congress since 2010.

On Friday, his office released a new statement, revealing he had pneumonia.

“Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. After my evaluation by the doctors at George Washington University Hospital, it turns out I had a previously undiagnosed case of pneumonia. I look forward to returning to work on Monday.”
