Woman taken to hospital after being found on fire

News

Sheriff’s deputies in Chautauqua County are trying to piece together why a woman was set on fire.

Authorities received a call from a home near Arkwright Hills Campground around 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Rescue crews were unable to communicate with the 42-year-old woman once they arrived at the scene.

The intial report received said a woman set herself on fire.

She was flown to ECMC and suffered 3rd degree burns on more than 75 percent of her body.

It’s not clear what condition she is in, and authorities do not yet know if this was intentional, accidental, self-inflicted, or done by someone else.
