BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- “We finished 31st, we deserved to finish 31st,” Sabres GM Jason Botterill didn’t hold back, he wasn’t only disappointed, he was angry during Wednesday’s season-ending press conference.

Botterill said there will be changes going forward and that could mean within the core players but it won’t mean a new head coach.

“Right now we have a losing culture,” Botterill said. “We haven’t won here, and it’s up to Phil and I to work with our players to work through that to make sure we change our culture.”

The Sabres held player exit interviews earlier this month, “Going through exit interviews flat out sucked” Botterill continued, “I don’t want to hear how disappointed they are. I want to hear what’s going to change? What’s the action plan?”

The leagues worst record was highlighted by the fewest home wins in the NHL and Housley understands the fans frustration.

“We have to earn their respect back. It can’t just be about words. We have to have better results.”
