If there are two things that come to mind when talking about Alabama football, it’s winning and defense.
Both are something Da’Shawn Hand contributed to as a two-time national champion on a Tide defense that ranked #1 in college football last season.
“Definitely when I go to any team, I’m like I got a winning mindset, I hate losing,” Hand said at the NFL Combine. “I gained that from Alabama. I really don’t like to lose at all. I don’t. I hate it.”
However, while he might hate losing, Hand’s game has be described as inconsistent as a rotational player on the Tide’s defense. Still, he finished his career with 13.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks.
But, Hand doesn’t solely want to be judged on his football skills. The defensive tackle said he had an informal meeting with the Bills at the NFL Combine but wants all 32 teams to know the impact he can have on their franchise.
“You know, when I leave, I want you to know more about me. ‘I would like to have him around my family or at my wedding,’ Hand said of how he hopes teams view him. “At the same time, when it’s time to go to war, that’s the first period I can call up, too.”
