The Buffalo Bisons led through eight full innings, but Durham played a slow and steady catch up to earn the 4-3 win.

The Herd struck first in the bottom of the third inning with a Dalton Pompey RBI. They’d add two more runs in the third inning when Rowdy Tellez hit a solo home run, and Reese McGuire had an RBI double.

The Bulls got on the board in the 7th when Brandon Lowe hit a home run. Durham would take the lead in the 9th when Brandon Snyder hit a two run home run.

McGuire led the Herd going two for three with one RBI.

Buffalo starter Thomas Pannone had a solid performance on the mound, pitching eight innings, allowing just two runs, and striking out nine.

Game two of the series is set for Friday night.
