The Bisons exploded for five runs in the second inning, and starter Ryan Borucki at one point retired 16 of the 17 batters he faced in a 6-1 win over Syracuse Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field.
The victory completes a four game sweep for the Herd, who have now won four straight to improve to 12-10 overall.
Borucki finished the day tossing seven strong innings and only allowed two hits to improve to 2-3 on the season.
At the start of their series, Buffalo was 7-10 and last in the North Division standings. The club is now just a half game back of division leading Pawtucket.
Darnell Sweeney opened the scoring for the Bisons in the second inning, driving in Danny Jansen and Rowdy Tellez with a single to center field. He would advance to second and then score along with Reese McGuire on another single from Roemon Fields.
Dwight smith Jr. added a third run scoring single to give the Herd a comfortable 5-0 lead.
The homestand continues this week for Buffalo as they welcome in Rochester for a three game series starting on Monday.
