Eichel tallies assist in USA’s 4-1 loss to Slovakia in IIHF World Championship opener

South Buffalo native Patrick Kane teamed up with Blackhawks teammate Alex DeBrincat for the United State’s lone goal in their 4-1 loss to Slovakia in their IIHF World Championship opener on Friday.

Sabres star center Jack Eichel was also credited with an assist on the goal.

The United States returns to the ice Sunday to face Germany.
