Tied at three with a little more than a minute to play and on the power play in the third period, Kyle Okposo ripped home his second goal of the season and the game winner in a 4-3 win over Montreal Thursday night at KeyBank Center.

The Sabres, who have now won three straight games, improve to 6-4-0 this season.  They only had one three game winning streak last season.

For Buffalo, it was another example of not straying from the gameplan and continuing to put pressure on opposing netminders.

Heading into the Thursday’s game both defenseman Jake McCabe and winger Conor Sheary said it’d be important to continue to pepper goaltenders with pucks.

By the end of 60 minutes the Sabres had done that, firing 42 shots at Anti Niemi.

Trailing 1-0 after the first period, Jason Pominville netted two goals in the second period to help power the Sabres to a 2-2 tie after 40 minutes of play.

Max Domi, who opened the scoring in the first period, added his second of the night, speeding into the offensive zone and firing a rocket past Carter Hutton to give the Canadiens a 3-2 lead.

But, like they did when they trailed against the Ducks four nights ago, the Blue & Gold continued to battle back.

Sam Reinhart found the back of the net midway through the third, scoring for the first time this season to tie the game.

Hutton stopped 19 of the 22 shots he faced, including one at the buzzer.

Buffalo has scored at least two goals in all their wins this season.  The Blue & Gold return to the ice Saturday when they travel to Columbus.
