Sabres Make Moves Monday, Acquire Dougherty From Predators

The Buffalo Sabres acquired defenseman Jack Dougherty from the Nashville Predators on Monday. In exchange, the team is sending forward Nicholas Baptiste to Nashville.

Dougherty has spent the last two seasons with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals. Dougherty appeared in 141 games. He was the Predators’ second round pick in the  2014 NHL Draft.

The defenseman played for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2014-2015 where he finished with nine points in 33 games as a freshman. 

The Sabres also assigned three players to Rochester Monday. Forward Alex Nylander, and defensemen Brendan Guhle and Brandon Hickey will all be joining the Amerks.  

The Sabres open up the 2018-2019 season Thursday at home when they host the Bruins.
