The sellout crowd at Alumni Arena had barely settled into their seats when Montell McRae soared through the air and jammed home the first two points of the game. UB gave the packed house plenty to cheer about on their way to a 84-73 win over Bowling Green. The Bulls finish the regular season with a 28-3 record.
Head coach Nate Oats started all five of his seniors and they provided an instant spark. CJ Massinburg, Nick Perkins, Jeremy Harris, Dontay Caruthers, and McRae all scored in the opening 9 minutes of the game to give the Bulls 28-11 lead.
UB led 43-30 at the half and seemed to be cruising but the Falcons made things interesting in the 2nd half. The Bulls shooting went cold and Bowling Green went on a 13-0 run to chop UB’s lead all the way down to one.
The Bulls would answer with a 14-5 run led by Perkins and Harris who each scored 7 points in the 4 minute stretch. UB rebuilt their double figure lead cruised to the finish line.
