The Bills signed former Seattle Seahawks punter Jon Ryan, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.

Ryan, who had play for the Seahawks since 2008, was cut on Monday.

The writing appeared to be on the wall for the Ryan after the team traded up in this year’s draft to take Texas punter Michael Dickson in the fifth round.

The Bills lost punter Corey Carter to injury in last Friday’s game against the Browns and also released Tyler Davis.

Ryan is the Seahawks all-time leader in punts, punt yards, and longest punt and will battle incumbent Bills punter Colton Schmidt, who has been with the team since 2014.
