Daboll jokes Bills practice hurdling in practice

Inside The Buffalo Huddle

One of the lasting images from the Bills’ impressive win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday is Josh Allen hurdling Anthony Barr to pick up a first down.

The drive culminated with Allen once again showing off his hops, leaping over the offensive line and goal line for a touchdown to give Buffalo a commanding 24-0 lead in the second quarter.

But, it was Allen’s incredible leap over the linebacker that sparked the hashtag #JoshAllenJumpingOverThings on social media and features him jumping over objects like US Bank Stadium, New Era Field, the moon, Mount Everest, and even a bowl of wings.

So, how do you perfect the art of dodging defenders in a single bound?  Practice, of course.

You guys are out there for practice and individual, right? We spend five minutes on hurdling and then the other five minutes on footwork,” offensive coordinator Brian Daboll joked on Monday.  “We have David [Culley] stand out there, [and] Josh makes the leap.

“(Josh is) a competitive athlete, he’s big, he’s strong, and obviously, we always want to throw first and run second. He’s competitive. It was a good play, we just want him to be smart with his body.”
