Jack Jurek can party like it’s 1999.
The Lackawanna native won his second Obenauer Masters Tournament, and first title in 20 years, defeating Tonawanda’s Mike Zarcone 623-621 in the finals of the 2019 event.
“It’s been 20 years since I won this tournament. All the chances that I’ve had, to finally get another one at this stage,” an emotional Jurek said with his voice tailing off.
Zarcone advanced to the finals by playing his way out of the Elimination Bracket with victories over Blasdell’s Tom Sorce and Lockport’s Sean Dietz.
Jurek earned a spot in the championship with a win over Dietz in the first match of the Winners Bracket 708-625.
The 56-year-old Jurek finished as a runner up in the tournament in 2018.
